Intentional: Navigating Winter’s Slow Time.

What is the "gift" of winter?

It's really easy to get stuck in the "ick" of winter. Short, cold days that roll into long dreary nights can seem like a burden to just survive. What if we were able to harness this time? To make it work for us? The secret to really making the best of winter is using it as a reset. A time to connect back to our home, family, and goals. The secret is, being intentional.

Be intentional in your home.

Since I am spending more time inside, I am able to see how the flow of the house is working/not working. I actually have time to observe and ask "is my home serving my family?" Surround yourself with textures and colors that bring you joy and refreshment.

Be intentional with family.

Spend the long quiet evenings working/playing with your family or friends. Take time for long, slow meals full of soul warming treats Some of our family favorites are fresh Sourdough bread, hot cocoa, and a family book. We highly recommend the "Mysterious Benedict Society" Fire in the fireplace!

Be intentional with goals.

The quiet time in winter gives us time to plan our year before the rush of warm weather kickstarts our activity. I focus on decluttering and organizing. One thing I am focusing on this season is re-establishing my Kombucha and getting in the habit of having that on hand for my family. Taking time to re-evaluate, what is most important for me to focus on in this year.
